Hey you -
Lately I've been loving finding inspiration from my favourite creators when I need a bit of help getting out of a slump. Whenever I'm in a rut I tend to watch people on YouTube who are calming and creative. I'm sure you have your go-to channels also (and I'd love to hear all about them in the comments!)
Today I thought I would post aboutย Kathleen Illustrated's video where she shares ideas for how to snap out of burnout and creative block. It's a fun idea to help youย show up for yourself this week using creative side quests. She does this over the span of three days in the vid but my approach is to use her metric of "3 things" and do it all in one day (the burnout has been real lately so this is my attempt at injecting some joy into my life in a condensed way).
It's also fitting to be doing something in the spirit of self-love on the heels of Valentine's Day.
My Three Things:
1. Put together a cute outfit:
I decided to wear a dress that was sitting in my closet forever. It's freezing here so I had on black leggings underneath, so not only did I felt cute as heck but I was also comfy!
I added some rose-gold jewelry too for a bit of โจsparkleโจ
2. Get a lil' treat:
I ended up ordering brunch and a special brownie. It was SO GOOD!
3. Create something:
I took some time in the evening to create a page in my book journal. (It's sort of an art journal/junk journal that I started last year) I enjoyed this immensely.ย
Here are some photos!
Thanks to Kathleen for the great idea! I really feel like this helped kickstart my week on a positive note by shaking things up and treating myself in three different ways.
Let me know if you try this! And make sure to go watch Kathleen's video
